Aotearoa Social Studies Educators’ Network (ASSEN)

ASSEN is the New Zealand national network of expertise for Social Studies education in primary and secondary schools. We provide advice, guidance, curriculum and assessment support, professional development, and resources for Social Studies education from Year 1 to Year 13.

Considering climate change and its impacts on communities is part of the Social Sciences curriculum learning area, and ASSEN is particularly interested in supporting teachers to understand and support their students with civics education, and climate action.
