Toimata Foundation

Toimata Foundation is a charitable trust focused on creative sustainability to bring about a healthier, peaceful, more equitable world through learning, empowerment and action.  With founding partner Te Mauri Tau, we work collaboratively with large partner network to support two nationwide initiatives, Te Aho Tū Roa and Enviroschools, that are:

Holistic and focused on positive and practical root solutions - as addressing climate change is interconnected with all aspects of sustainability, our nationwide networks are taking action to regenerate biodiversity, localise food systems, restore the mana of wai, rethink consumption and waste, build based on ecological design, choose active transport and more…    

Facilitated by passionate and highly skilled teams working with rangatahi, tamariki and communities, comprising experienced and creative facilitators and poutautoko carrying a comprehensive suite of resources in te reo Māori and English.

Grounded in this land and offering focused support for Māori wisdoms and knowledge to thrive and contribute to the well-being of our communities and country.

Intergenerational and empowering – working with people of all ages and supporting the aspirations of hapū, iwi, schools, kura, early childhood centres, kōhanga and communities.

Contributing to large-scale attitudinal and behaviour change by generating significant positive shifts in communities across the country.
